Tackling Biofilms and Microplastics Together

Event Description: This event aims to raise awareness about the impact of biofilms and microplastics on environmental and public health, focusing on microbial solutions to mitigate these issues. The session will educate participants on the role of biofilms in microbial ecosystems and the effects of microplastics on microbial communities. A poster-making competition will be held, themed around 'Harnessing Microbial Power: Biofilm Insights for a Microplastic-Free World.' Participants will create informative and visually engaging posters highlighting essential information about biofilms, microplastics, and innovative microbial solutions to address these challenges. In addition lectures will be delivered by researchers and faculty members creating awareness and sensitization about microplastics and biofilms.
Objectives:
Educate participants: Inform about the role of biofilms in microbial ecosystems and the impact of microplastics on biofilm formation, highlighting the environmental and health implications.
Promote effective strategies: Discuss innovative microbial solutions to mitigate the effects of microplastics and biofilm-related issues, focusing on sustainable practices and bioremediation techniques.
Engage the students: Host a poster-making competition to creatively showcase key information about biofilms, microplastics, and microbial solutions, raising awareness about these critical environmental issues.
