International Microorganism Day 2025: Exploring the Invisible World

Event Description:

Join us for International Microorganism Day 2025, a half-day in-person event dedicated to highlighting the fundamental importance of microorganisms in our health, environment, and biotechnology. The event will feature three keynote presentations by recognized microbiology experts, covering essential topics such as the role of microorganisms in intestinal health, the dual nature of fungi, and pioneering innovations in microbial biotechnology. This event aims to foster knowledge, scientific exchange, and motivate students, professionals, and the general public to appreciate these invisible organisms that profoundly impact our daily lives.

Objective:

To highlight the importance of microorganisms in our daily lives, promote scientific exchange, and encourage the community to value and study these essential organisms for the planet and humanity.

Event Agenda:

  • 09:00 AM – Registration and Welcome

  • 09:15 AM – Conference 1: “Role of Microorganisms in Intestinal Health” – Dr. Elio Núñez
    An exploration of the fundamental role played by intestinal microorganisms in digestion, the immune system, and overall health.

  • 09:45 AM – Conference 2: “Are Fungi Always Enemies?” – Lic. Fernando Gómez An analysis of the dual role of fungi as pathogens and valuable allies in nature and biotechnology.

  • 10:15 AM – Conference 3: “Microbial Innovations in Biotechnology” – Dr. German Gonzalez Presentation of advances and innovative applications of microorganisms in health, agriculture, and the environment.

  • 10:45 AM – Q&A Session with all speakers

  • 11:15 AM – Closing Remarks and Thanks

  • 12:00 PM – End of Event
