Join Our IMD 2023 Team
The preparations for International Microorganism Day 2023 have started and this means we need more people to join our team! We are looking for the following volunteer roles:
SOCIAL MEDIA Assistant
IMD has 3 social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and we need someone to help us coordinate the scheduling of our posts and engaging with our audience. If you have experience with social media copywriting and scheduling, we would love to hear from you!
Graphic designer/illustrator
Do you have experience with graphics or design? Then, we can use your help in making engaging visuals for our social media and website following the IMD brand.
WEBSITE COORDINATOR
The IMD website is the core of our operations so we are looking for someone to help us keep it running smoothly and make sure its content and webpages are updated. Experience with SquareSpace is an advantage.
4. BLOG COORDINATOR
Every year we publish different blogs on microbiology on our website, and this role will help us coordinate with blog writers to draft and post these blogs. Good project management skills are essential and experience with SquareSpace is an advantage.
5. BLOG WRITERS
To write blog(s) to be published on our website. These need to be easy to read and break down complex microbiology concepts for a wide audience.
Each role involves a small commitment: attending our meetings once every two weeks, and roughly 1 to 2 hours between each meeting performing the role in your own time. We will coordinate the team remotely, over emails, video calls, and cloud documents. There will be an increased commitment during September in the run up to IMD2023 on 17th September!
