Event Description:
Join us on September 17, 2025, for a vibrant celebration of the International Microorganism Day – the only event in Colombia that is part of the global IMD network! Hosted by the Microbiology Program, this full-day festival blends science, creativity, and fun through an engaging lineup of activities.
This year’s event features photography contests, interactive science games, and team challenges, designed to make microbiology accessible and exciting for all. Some of the highlights include:
Photography Contest – "Through the Microscope": Showcase your artistic vision of the microbial world.
"100 Microbiologists Say": A trivia-style competition based on popular opinions and microbiology facts.
"Guess Who I Am?" Itinerant Stands: An interactive identity-guessing challenge with a microbial twis visiting themed stations to explore microbiology in action.
Pathogen Rally: Test your knowledge and speed in a scientific treasure hunt including Sack Race – Micro Edition, Microbial Rap Battle and Microbial Couples.
Target Audience:
Students, educators, researchers, and the general public interested in science, education, and interactive learning.
Objective:
To promote public understanding of microbiology through experiential learning activities, fostering curiosity, teamwork, and scientific appreciation in an inclusive and fun environment.
