As part of International Microorganism Day (IMD) 2025, we will celebrate the stories and perspectives of microbiologists from across Australia through a series of interviews and a dynamic short video compilation.

This initiative aims to showcase the passion and curiosity that drive microbiologists in their work, while also reflecting the diversity and multicultural fabric of the scientific community in Australia. By highlighting personal journeys, cultural influences, and professional insights, the project will emphasize how microbiologists contribute to solving pressing challenges in health, environment, food security, and biotechnology.

The overarching goals of this activity are to inspire the broader community to see microbes not only as pathogens but also as powerful allies in shaping a sustainable and healthy future, to celebrate the contributions of Australian scientists on a global stage, and to create engaging, shareable content that connects researchers, educators, students, and the public in the spirit of IMD 2025.
