Participants will showcase their artistic and conceptual skills through:
• Poster Making Competition – Highlighting innovative themes in microbiology.
• Microbial photo booths – Creating artistic microbial selfie corners.
• Microbial Model Making (Clay) – Representing microorganisms and their structures.
Day 2 – Fun with Microbes
Science meets fun with interactive competitions:
• Microbial Rangoli Competition – Traditional art with a microbial twist.
• Scientific act-To present microbiological concepts, discoveries, or stories through short, engaging stage performances that combine science with creativity and entertainment.
• Vlog competition: Life of a Microbe (storytelling from a microbe’s perspective)- Autobiography of microorganisms

As part of International Microorganism Week, the Department of Microbiology of The Oxford College of Science, Arts, Commerce and Management, HSR Layout, Bangalore, is hosting a series of creative competitions open to P.U. students of in and around Bangalore and B.Sc. Microbiology students of the college, celebrating the beauty and diversity of microbes.
Events include Petri Picasso (agar plate art), Microdoku (micro-themed Sudoku), Bug Art (microbial sketches and models), Micro Parody (theme-related song composition), Bio Kolam (rangoli with microbial patterns), and Pioneer Canvas (posters on pioneers of microbiology).
With a range of activities, the programme aims to inspire students to look at microbiology beyond the laboratory, merging scientific knowledge with art and culture, while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the microbial world.
