“Tiny Organisms, Big Solutions” is a free online event hosted from Angola by BIOLIDER, Novagrolider’s bioinputs laboratory. Through five expert-led talks and public discussion, it will explore how microorganisms support sustainable agriculture, water and food safety, health, biotechnology, and quality of life, while strengthening microbiology outreach in Angola.
“Tiny organisms, big solutions: innovation, health, and sustainability” is a free online event hosted from Angola by Biolider Bioinputs Laboratory, Novagrolider, to celebrate International Microorganism Day 2026.
The event will highlight the essential roles of microorganisms in sustainable agriculture, water and food safety, human health, biotechnology, environmental balance, and quality of life. It aims to strengthen microbiology outreach in Angola, recognise local scientific expertise, and inspire students and young people to pursue microbiology-related careers.
The programme will feature an introductory video, five expert-led talks, audience questions, and a closing panel discussion. Speakers and organisers include Mariana Lourenço Campolino, a biologist with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and Innovation Management and a PhD in Bioengineering; Yerandy Hechavarria Luna, a scientist experienced in biotechnology, immunology, nanomaterials, and vaccine development; and Bruno Raimundo Manuel, Assis António Osvaldo, and Marlene Lucrécia António Manuel, Biology graduates from the Faculty of Sciences at Agostinho Neto University.
Delivered online in Portuguese, the event targets students, teachers, researchers, professionals, producers, science communicators, and the general public, primarily in Angola, while welcoming international participants. Participation is free, and attendees will receive certificates. The initiative will promote dialogue, accessible scientific communication, and public appreciation of the microbial world across society.
